The Clarendon Practice

Specialist support for PTSD, anxiety and complex trauma.

NHS-experienced trauma therapy for adults and teenagers in Coventry and surrounding areas including Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth.

You might look like you’re coping on the outside…

But inside, you feel constantly on edge, exhausted or stuck. Perhaps you experience:

  • Flashbacks or intrusive memories
  • Sudden waves of panic or emotional shutdown
  • Feeling hyper-alert or unable to relax
  • Ongoing anxiety or low mood
  • Shame, self-criticism or emotional numbness

Trauma can remain in the nervous system long after an event is over. Even when life appears stable, your body may still be reacting as if something isn’t safe. At The Clarendon Practice in Coventry, I provide trauma-focused psychotherapy and EMDR to help your brain and body process what happened, so that you can begin to move forward.

How I Can Help

EMDR Therapy in Coventry

If something has happened that you can’t seem to leave behind, EMDR might help.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a globally recognised therapy for trauma. It’s used for experiences like accidents, assault, abuse, childhood neglect, loss, or long-term stress and burnout.

It works by helping your brain finish processing memories that have got stuck. So that over time, what once felt overwhelming becomes something you can hold more gently.

Pain and Medical Trauma

If your body has been through something difficult and you’re still carrying it, then therapy can help.

Living with long-term pain or a history of medical trauma takes a toll that goes beyond the physical. I use EMDR-informed and psychological approaches to work with people affected by accidents, surgery or illness, traumatic experiences in hospital, health anxiety, and the emotional weight of chronic conditions. So that pain feels less all-consuming, and you feel more like yourself again.

Anxiety, Depression and Long-Term Stress

If you’ve been struggling with anxiety, low mood or a sense of being completely worn down, you don’t have to keep pushing through alone.

I offer therapy in Coventry for people dealing with anxiety and panic, social anxiety and phobias, depression (including postnatal depression), work-related burnout, and persistent low self-esteem.

Together, we look at what’s keeping these patterns in place and find steadier, kinder ways of relating to yourself and the people around you.
